Denizden 1050 metre yükseklikte bir krater gölü olarak bilinmesine karşın, aslında küçük bir akarsuyun etraftan gelen yıkıntılarla tıkanması sonucu oluşmuş, doğal bir set gölüdür. Etrafı kayın, sarıçam, sedir, kestane ağaçları ile çevreli gölün rengi zümrüt yeşilidir. Güney kıyısı sarp ve diktir. Tabandan su kaynaması olan göl, ayrıca dereden gelen sularla da beslenmektedir.
