En medio de este conflicto, el pueblo de Dios es presentado como el pueblo victorioso por medio de la sangre del Cordero (Ap 12:11). Del mismo modo, el pueblo de Dios es presentado como el pueblo perseguido por los poderes de este mundo. Apocalipsis 13 presenta a los poderes que aparecen en el tiempo del fin: una bestia que sale de la tierra y otra segunda bestia que sale del mar. Ambos persiguen y luchan contra el pueblo de Dios.
