Rain Check Radio is an experimental internet radio station that broadcasts personal methods of predicting rain, gathered from participants in Singapore. Rather than providing weather forecasts, the station transmits different ways of sensing, interpreting and judging the weather through spoken instructions.
Each broadcast offers listeners an opportunity to temporarily inhabit another person's way of reading the sky, drawing attention to sensory cues, memories and experiences they might otherwise overlook.
Operating as a living archive of informal weather knowledge, the station explores how embodied knowledge travels through voice, repetition and transmission, and what might be preserved, altered or lost when personal experience is translated into instructions.
