Radio Quinteroweb, Los orígenes de Quintero se remontan a 1536, cuando llega el español don Alonso de Quintero en la nave Santiaguillo. En esa época los marinos españoles confeccionaban carta de navegación en su reconocimiento, siendo ésta llamada "Bahía de Quintero", quedando consignada así para la Armada española. Piratas y Corsarios existen en la historia y leyenda de Quintero, se consigna que el 9 de Abril de 1587 llega el corsario inglés Thomas Cavendish, así también llegan los piratas Drake en el siglo XVI y Spilpergen en el siglo XVII, encontrando un punto de descanso y abastecimiento de agua y leña. Como recuerdo de ello, quedó La Cueva del Pirata, ubicada en el acantilado Punta Liles.
