Gogonbd holds the distinction of being Bangladesh's first private FM radio station. The station commenced test transmissions on May 5, 2006, and officially launched its commercial operations on October 15, 2006. From the outset, it broadcast live 24/7 using a high-powered 10 kW FM transmitter, delivering coverage across a 70-kilometer radius from Dhaka and reaching an estimated population of 30 million.
Between 2007 and 2009, Gogonbd expanded its footprint to nine key metropolitan areas across Bangladesh, reinforcing its status as a trailblazer in the nation's radio broadcasting landscape. The expanded network included Dhaka, Chattogram (formerly Chittagong), Cox's Bazar, Mymensingh, Khulna, Bogura (formerly Bogra), Sylhet, Kushtia, Barishal, and Cumilla (formerly Comilla)
