Radio Monique kent een rijke geschiedenis die teruggaat naar de jaren 80. In die tijd was het station een pionier in de ether en wist het een grote schare trouwe luisteraars aan zich te binden met zijn unieke programmering en muzikale keuzes. De beginjaren van Radio Monique waren gekenmerkt door innovatie en durf. Het station zond uit vanaf een schip en bracht muziek en programma's die destijds nergens anders te horen waren. De invloed van Radio Monique op de radiocultuur van die tijd was aanzienlijk. In 2020 maakte Radio Monique een succesvolle herstart.
