Türkü, Türkiye'nin sözlü geleneğinde, bir ezgi ile söylenen halk şiirlerinin her çeşidine verilen ad. Türkü sözcüğü, Türk adının sonuna, ilgi eki olan "î" ekinin getirilmesiyle ortaya çıkmıştır. "Türkî", Türk ile ilgili ve Türk'e özgü anlamında da kullanılır. Türkü, kendine özgü ve belirli bir ezgi ile söylenen, hece ölçüsüyle yazılan ve zamanla anonimleşen bir nazım biçimidir. Türküler ana dörtlüklerle, onu izleyen nakaratlardan oluşur. Türkülerdeki dörtlüklere (üçlük veya ikilik de olabilir) "bent" adı verilir. Nakaratlar ise halk dilinde "bağlama" ve "kavuştak" olarak adlandırılır. Kavuştaklar her ezgiden sonra tekrar edilen ikilik (ya da daha çok) dizelerdir. Türkünün belirli bir şekli yoktur.
