Manzanares es una localidad en el partido de Pilar, provincia de Buenos Aires, ubicada a unos 70 km de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Su historia está ligada al ferrocarril: se fundó alrededor de la estación inaugurada en 1885 por la empresa del Ferrocarril Buenos Aires al Pacífico, en terrenos donados por la viuda de Máximo Manzanares. Originalmente era un punto clave para la producción lechera local, que se transportaba en tren .
